Well, Blame it on GlobalWarming. The wife and I seperated last month. I have been looking forward to this reunion as I see it as my last attempt to Clairafy my life. The family would say that I was looking for sympathy or something but???  My plans as of now are still attend, with some stipulations as to seeing my wife again. Anyway, I don't know why, but I do understand many of the people that I used to see while doing Class Reunions when I was DJ'ing. Sorry to here about Randy Wright. That's cutting it close. Anyway, my Last Grandchild has my 1st, 2 Great Grand Sons, Asher & Calvin.

The reunion should be a blast! It'll be so nice to share good times together. Sadly I hear that some have decided not to attend for fear of too much political talk. I was "advised" by a classmate (with different political views) that I should not attend the reunion ... Mike was "worried about my mental status"!
I pray that we can put aside our political biases and just get-along! Cheryl Hatcher-Sykes

Yes! I want to see people as Friends, Not as Foes. Some of my best memories are from School Daze! "Why Can't We Be Friends? Why Can't We Be Friends? Why Can't We Be Friends? Why Can't We Be Friends?"

Cheryl Hatcher (Sykes) - I just read your message and was so dismayed.  I cannot believe that a fellow classmate would actually tell you not to attend the reunion because of your political views.  That is awful.  I want to assure you that I welcome you and everyone else to the reunion, regardless of any views whatsoever, and I hope to see you there.

I won't be at the reunion due to health issues.

However, I have a message I'd like to share:

I hope everyone who does attend is mature enough to set politics aside, enjoy being with old friends (no pun intended), and let everyone else do the same.

As for my personal 1970's politics:

We didn’t get the dress code changed in time for us. But it did get changed. Nonetheless, now as an adult I can wear my hair as long as I want (see my picture as evidence).

Have fun everyone.

I will be in Eastern Europe, so I won't be able to attend the reunion. This is a trip that was scheduled for 2020, rescheduled for 2021, and then rescheduled again. This will be the first time I have been off the continent since 2018, so I am really looking forward to it. Hope you all have a great time.

I do have a question for any Winans friends. Because my dad's house burned in 1973, I don't have any grade school class photos. If anyone has a class photo with me in it, I would really appreciate it if you would email a scan of your photo to tsimons@ku.edu.

Thanks.

Thelma

Greetings and best wishes to all. I will not be able to attend the 50 plus 1 Reunion. I would have enjoyed to see many of you and catch up on where life's pathways have taken us. I retired 10 years ago and then turned around and started two businesses which are still running today. God has blessed my life beyond measure and my family is a rich blessing.

I look forward to reading a summary and the comments as they are posted post reunion. Peace and blessing to each of you.

Byron

Dear classmates, The last class reunion I was able to attend was our 20th, Unfortunately, I was not able to make our 30th or 40th reunion. Just KNEW I would be able to come to our 50th and had been making plans to do so. However, with heartfelt disappointment, the 'Fates' have once again conspired against me and will be unable to attend our reunion. To those of you who have planned and worked so hard to make this reunion to come to life...Thank you! I know it will be great and well appreciated. I will miss not being with all of you, but will be with you in spirit. I hope everyone has a 'rip-roarin'" good time. Nancy Moulds(Niemeir)

Greetings to all our classmates of 71!  Unfortunately, due to 'old age' things happening...surgeries, Dr. appts., etc etc, Greg and I will not be able to attend the 50th +1 class reunion.  We were looking forward to attending, but real life got in the way.  We'll be looking forward to all the pictures and stories and reminisce of old times.  Sending our deepest regrets, hugs and smiles!  Greg and Cheryl (Chastain) Reece

Just watched the memorial video. Thanks so much to everyone who worked on creating this video. It is sad to see all the classmates we have lost, but the video is a beautiful way to remember them. I didn't get to know very many people at high school, other than my Office Ed classmates, I was one of those quiet, shy kids who didn't get involved in much at school, so there are many names on the video that I don't know. There were also a few good friends that I have lost touch with, so it was sad to see they had passed away.

Please pass my thanks along to everyone involved in making this video.

Thelma

I recently looked at the list of the fallen and was both saddened and astounded by the high number.  Each day, hour, minute, and second is a gift.  Sharing is caring and kindness adds love and light to the world!

Mr. Hilst was one of my favorite teachers.  He has a great sense of humor and I believe he colnnected with his students.

Here is a quick link to the website to donate to his cause:

I just now ran across the In Memory video. Thank you for that, Kim! It was beautifully done.

Lin, I cannot take credit for the In Memory video.  That was done by Nancy and others.  It was really nicely done.
