We lost Jay Carter Mon., 8/12.  Jay has been ill for some time.  He was married and living in Newton.  His mother still lives in the same house, and as sweet as ever.  No details yet regarding arrangements.

Charlie & Kim,

I'm the kid who used to drive a black Model "A" Ford to school.

I sort of remember Rand Partridges's efforts on the Class of '71 Forum, too. Seems like it was around the time of the big 2001 Reunion. I moderate part of an antique car forum(71,000 members -- 1,200,000 posts) so know it can be a lot of work.

Hi Salthawks. I haven't hit any H.S. reunions yet, but may actually go to this one. I'm already planning on going to The Land Institute's 40th Anniversary & Reunion in Salina the prior weekend...so I'll just extend my stay another 5 days...camp out at Kanopolis maybe. Wondering if I can do the golf thing solo at 4 or 5 a.m., so I won't have to endanger fellow sportsmen(my slice kinda got me banned from the game). Jeff Brown

Yesterday (Wed., 6/23), I took my 5 year old granddaughter to the first of the kid's summer movies at the Fox!  These days, it's a punch card insteed of a book of tickets. And the kids were much more well-behaved than we were, but I suspect that's because they were chaparoned. I don't ever remember seeing any adults in our day.  If we were lucky we got a ride, otherwise it was walk or bike with a stop first at Frase Drug for candy.

I really enjoyed the feeling of coming full circle, however I do wonder what it says about me that I'm right back in the same place 50+ years later.

Hey classwmates.  As you may or may not know, coach Whitey Alpers passed away a few months ago.  Saw a FB post suggesting we name the HHS north gym the Whity Alpers Gym.  I think it's a fantastic idea.  It was just a suggestion but one maybe we can help move along!

How long untill our next reunion?  I already miss all you guys - and ladies!

Just wondering with all the fires around Hutch if anybody has any information if any classmates were affected by this. I know Mike & Sherry Nevius Live not far from the Highlands which was hit hard. Any updates would be appreciated.

I saw on Facebook that Scott and Lisa Saylor had to evacuate their home. But all turned out well. They have returned home.

I was extremely saddened to learn of the passing of John Arbuckle this past Saturday. As classmates at Liberty Jr. High, John and I became good friends. Although in later years we drifted apart as most classmates do, I nonetheless would fondly remember him and his witty demeanor. A year ago, we became connected once again through Facebook, where I got to learn a bit about this friend I had missed all these years. Rest in peace, John.

Classmates, it is with a very heavy heart to share that we lost Bob Fowler on Thursday, March 21st to cancer. Bob's mother (Eileen) just passed away last Thanksgiving at age 102. I will post more once I have more. Rest in peace Robert, I will miss you more each day. Condolences to his wife Amy, as well as to his children and grandchildren.

Thanks so much for the update. I think it is a wise decision. The survey was an excellent idea. Looking forward to having a simple, low cost reunion which will allow all who wish to attend to come. Leigh Rayl

If Covid has taught us (especially to young people) one thing, it is that life isn't fair. We don't have enough control over life to make everything fair.

We take what we have and make a decision and move on.

Our volunteer organizers have given us a rare historical event.

A Fifty FIRST high school reunion! 😉

Thanks for all of your work.
