It is with sadness that we belatedly announce the passing of Mark McElheny. Mark bravely battled cancer for several years but succumbed to his illness on February 11, 2018. He is survived by his brother, Scott, his wife, Lisa, and two daughters, Skylar and Taylor. Mark lived in Chesterton, Indiana, where the family still resides.

Mark and I lived across the street from each other during grade school and we had a great time. Debbie Goble was next door and there was always things going on. Last I knew, Mark was in the Navy serving on a submarine, which takes a strong psyche, so I have heard. Great guy and a great family. His dad, Paul, was the Hutch Fire Chief at one time. And his brother, Scott, caught me in the eye with a baseball bat during a front yard game. I still have the scar and the memory. Rest in peace Mark.
